The Scope of Work describes how you want the work performed on your project.
The Inspection Reports ensure that the performance of the subcontractor meets those objectives.
The Inspection Reports also show the subcontractor that you are serious about his performance meeting your expectations.
The Inspection Reports further document your active participation and oversight in the construction process on the the project.
This can protect your construction company in the event of conflict with the client.
Enter the Company Name and Project ID. This information is shared throughout the app.
Enter the Project Start Date. This is for reference only.
The Inspection status information is completed as the inspections are conducted.
Tab Names —
Tab names with a “1” appended (i.e. Insulation1) are Pre-Start Inspections.
Tab names with a “2” appended (i.e. Insulation2) are Exit Inspections.
Identify the individuals or subcontractor companies to whom each completed inspection report will be emailed. All cells are customizable, and additional entries can be made in the light green cells.
For each internal distribution, add the email address and the Contact name.
For each external distribution, add the Business Name as well.
This information is transferred to each Inspection Report when selected in the Distribution section.
For each inspection, enter the date the inspection was conducted.
The defaulted inspection items are based on the phase Scope of Work. All defaulted Inspection items are customizable.
The Scope of Work document is available by clicking on the blue arrow.
Customized Inspection items can be added in the light green cells.
Select the dropdown menu under “Distribute to” to select the individuals who should receive copies of this report.
If the information for the individual does not display, return to the “Company Database” tab and add the information there.
At the bottom left of the form, select “Print”.
Print the form as a PDF, and save the PDF to the Project File.
At your email server, send a copy of the Inspection Report PDF to everyone in the distribution list.
Along with the custom inspection items on each page, there are three Custom Pages in each module.
Access the Custom Pages at the top menu.
Change the name of the page to the phase you wish to address. Pages will not display until the Page Name is changed.
Add the Inspection Items for this phase.
Once the items have been entered, the page will display just as any other page.
If the new Phase will be used on every project, save the file as a Template so it can be recalled for use.
Set up the app when a project is begun.
As each inspection is conducted, access the app, load the previous saved copy, conduct the inspection, then save the new information.
If you are re-inspecting a phase that did not pass the previous inspection, change the date of the inspection in the app and conduct the inspection.
When you save the report, add “Re-Inspect” and the new date. Do not delete the previous failed inspection report.
If you are adding the same customized inspection items to every project, create a template of this report by adding those items and saving the app as a “Template”. Then access the template as each new project is initiated.
